Signs You’re Healing and Growing (Even If It Doesn’t Feel Like It)
Take a moment and think about who you were one year ago. Even better: open your gallery and pick a picture of yourself from a year before. Do you notice a change? Even the smallest one? Don’t be hard on yourself, growth isn’t always loud.
And if you really don’t see anything, choose a photo from two years ago. Sometimes changes are slow, but they are still happening.
Here are real signs you’re growing and improving, even if it doesn’t feel like it:
You don’t repeat the same mistakes
You’ve learned something. You understand things differently now. The patterns that used to trap you don’t have the same power.
Your mindset or the way you react has changed
Maybe you don’t respond to situations like you used to. Maybe you’re calmer, more mature, or more protective of your peace. That’s growth — even if it feels subtle. Your style or routines have evolved
Your morning routine, beauty routine, or even your style might have changed. Even a slight shift shows you’re trying new things, improving yourself, choosing what feels right for you now.
Your life situation isn’t the same
Maybe you have a new job, new studies, a new activity, or you graduated. These are signs of movement showing you that life is carrying you forward.
Take the time to step back and reflect
When you’re living day to day, it’s normal not to notice the progress. That’s why you sometimes need to pause and look at yourself from a different angle: your habits, your environment, your choices.
Nothing is constant. Everything changes, whether you see it or not. Even the weather changes every single day.
And so do you quietly, slowly, beautifully.
If you want to see your progress more clearly, try this:
- Look at an old photo and write down 3 things that improved.
- List the habits that no longer serve you.
- Note one way your mindset has matured.
Personally journalling really helped me see my evolution. I started back in 2019, and I used to always start by writing the date. Years later, when I reread those entries, I was pleasantly surprised to see evolution on various points. It felt so good to read words that I once wrote, to feel again those emotions again, while realizing how much my situation had changed and how I was now in a completely different place. I felt proud of myself and grateful for all those changes that I wasn’t really thinking about and took for granted before opening my journal.
You’re doing better than you think.
You’re not the same person you were — and that’s the proof you’re healing and growing.
